  1. This patch changes your DigitalUniverse executable file to bring
  2. it up to version 1.01.  The modifications involved are provided
  3. at the end of this document.

  5. To apply this patch, you need the SAS/C "spatch" utility.  It is
  6. available at the same Web page that you obtained this archive,
  7. the support section of http://www.syz.com/
  8.  
  9. If you accidentally obtained the wrong patch file for your particular
  10. executable, "spatch" will display an error message.  There are
  11. three different patch files - one for 68000 executables, one for
  12. 68020+ executables, and one for 68020+/68881+ executables.  Make sure
  13. you obtain the correct one.  Please contact us via Internet email

  17. IMPORTANT NOTE: Since one of the changes involves a user preferences
  18. file, the format of this file has had to change.  You cannot use
  19. your old Digital Universe preferences, and MUST re-initialize the
  20. file to default values before using the software.  To do this,
  21. open up a shell and type:

  23.     DigitalUniverse init
  24.  
  25. You will then have to open the Environment Preferences and
  26. Display/Object Preferences windows to adjust for your preferred
  27. settings.

  30. Changes since version 1.00:

  32. New features
  33. ------------
  34. - In the Display/Object preferences window, a new option entitled
  35.   "Show Titlebar" is now available.  If the user disables this
  36.   gadget, the title bar at the top of the screen is removed, and menu
  37.   options are only visible while the right mouse button is held
  38.   down.
  39. - If the user wishes to view the effects of proper motion and has
  40.   the software set up to draw constellation figures, the figures will
  41.   change shape as the stars move around.  Note that this change
  42.   invalidates the second paragraph under "Constellation Figures" on
  43.   page 3-24 of the user manual.

  45. Bug fixes
  46. ---------
  47. - Three minor Enforcer hits which occurred during the introduction
  48.   sequence have been eliminated.
  49. - After the introduction sequence, the audio filter is turned back
  50.   on.  It was previously left off.
